- Do you usually style your hair at home?
- What products do you use?
- Is there anything you did not like about your last haircut?

- Where would you like the neckline to sit?
- Do you want the moustache trimmed?
Use visual checks
Look at growth patterns, hair density, head shape, previous cut lines and condition. Ask before making major changes.
Confirm the plan
Repeat the agreed service back to the client before starting. This gives both barber and client a chance to correct misunderstandings.
Good consultation habits
Be clear, polite and honest. If a requested style may not work with the client’s hair type or current length, explain the reason and suggest an alternative.
